Ground control to major tom

Wow, it is amazing how the pieces of the puzzle of life can just fall into place sometimes with such little effort required. I am very happy to be settled into my new home in Ojai. The crib as always brings new and amazing things to light. Thank you to everyone for making it such a magical event. A whole new year is ahead, I believe for me this one is going to be beautiful :)

Looking forward to catching up on a the blogs from everyone!!!

Sometimes you can see the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Dude and the Sruirrel

Animals sure are funny, this morning while watering the plants I see the squirrel. He is always around, chattering away. I wish I knew what he was saying:) He comes right down the tree and starts eating nuts a few feet from me, constantly on the alert for Dude. Dude is the house cat that lives here. As the squirrel continues to eat the nuts from the ground, acting quit relaxed for a change. Finally dude moseys is way over and lays in front of me. We are about 12 feet away from where the squirrel want to gather nuts. The squirrel chatters away at Dude for a while and then starts to come down the tree. Flicking his tail, constantly watching Dude. Once he makes it all the way down the tree he quickly grabs a nut. Still watching Dude, who doesn't seem to care, but still is keeping an eye on what is going on. After the squirrel eats a few nuts without the cat bothering him he starts to get comfortable. Now I see Dude starting to get ready, slowly one foot at a time placing it in just the right position. As the squirrel leans over the rock to get a nut Dude makes his move. He easily could of had the squirrel, instead he just paws at it as it scurries up the tree. The squirrel stops about 6 feet up the tree and turns to chatter at Dude, who looks at him for a few seconds and then lays down on the ground under the tree. :) :) :)

Trust and Openness

Imagine seeing a dark cave with a large and luminous flower floating in the darkness, shining with the light of inner wisdom. The flower remains hidden, for it doesn't appreciate its own beauty, and in revealing itself, in opening to the light, it fears it may be destroyed. In what ways might you be like that flower? Do you invite others into private spaces? What if you trusted enough to come out of the cave, to reveal your heart, your vulnerability, your own inner light?

Downward facing blog

What if the sky was yellow and the sun was blue? Maybe then it would be easier for me to put my thoughts into words. Yeah Right :) Hemalayaa and Andrew will be back tomorrow so this may be my last blog for a while. Back to being cut of from the world wide web. Not that it has mattered that much anyway. Sometimes I start to write and my mind just goes blank. Then I start to read some of the other blogs that are out there, which are fantastic by the way. We really have some good writers in the class of 2008. I try to put the blogs I like on my blog and am not able to make it work. Maybe sometime.
You probably are wondering why I named this post Downward facing Blog? Here's how my brain is working; I see so many people go into down dog and love it. If it is early in class the stretch is good, but after a series I can't say I hate it, but it is not love for me at this point in my practice. I know it is coming, there are times when it is at least slightly satisfying. Just like writing these blogs. It can feel good to at least try and let my thoughts flow out onto the screen, stretch my brain a little. But after some time is spent then it get tough. Downward facing Blog, get it?
Anyway it has been great house sitting for Andrew and Hemalayaa. They have a very beautiful home; with such powerful energy. The cat Dude is the easiest cat, or any animal actually, I have ever taken care of. Keep food and water in his dish and he likes a little attention, usually in the early evening as the sun is going down but other than that takes care of himself.
Had a great time seeing Amy off to NYC on Thursday night. She sure is special :) :) :) What a great gathering! Sooooo much love in one place, and great food too! Got to meet Kira's brother, what a wonderful soul. I look forward to seeing him again.
Saturday was the Ojai Classic Rock Festival. It was good to see a good turn out to support live music. Everyone from little babies to their grandmas and grandpas. I got there late so I did not get to see all the bands, no worries. Cubensis rocked the park, they get better every time I see them. Stole our faces right off our heads :)

See ya when I see ya, remember nothin left to do but smile, smile, smile...

the Window

You've heard it said there's a window that opens from one mind to another,

but if there's no wall, there's no need for fitting the window, or the latch.

Spirit of the Stones

I had the great pleasure of gathering thursday evening with several people on the mountain top overlooking Ojai to listen to Amalia Camateros speak and then dance till dark :) The evening was amazing! Amalia spoke on how to retrieve wisdom from the earth. Getting in touch with mother earth is always good, the evening made me more aware that it would be good for me to do it more.
